The non-bank lending market has kept growing in North Macedonia, largely because quick loans fill a gap that traditional bank products aren't always designed for: small amounts, needed fast, for a short period.

That speed is useful for genuine short-term needs, but it comes with a trade-off — interest rates on quick loans are typically higher than longer-term bank credit, so they work best when the amount and term are both kept small.

Before taking one out, it's worth asking whether the need is truly short-term. If it isn't, a longer-term product with a lower rate may cost less overall, even if it takes a little longer to arrange.
