A consumer loan, without going from bank to bank.
One request instead of ten. We pass it to a licensed lender whose terms may suit you.
What is a consumer loan?
A consumer loan is a loan for personal needs — furniture, appliances, repairs, travel, tuition or a larger unexpected expense. It is repaid in monthly instalments over an agreed term. In Macedonian it's "потрошувачки кредит", often typed as "potrosuvacki kredit".
It can be general-purpose, where you don't have to show what you spend the money on, or purpose-bound, where the loan is tied to a specific purchase.
Bank or financial company?
Both banks and financial companies offer consumer loans. Banks are licensed and supervised by the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia; financial companies are licensed by the Ministry of Finance.
Banks usually offer larger amounts, longer terms and lower costs, with a more detailed check. Financial companies usually decide faster and ask for fewer documents, but the loan is typically for smaller amounts and can cost more.
What drives the monthly payment?
- The amount — borrowing more means a higher payment or a longer term.
- The term — a longer term lowers the monthly payment but usually increases the total you repay.
- Interest and fees — together they are expressed as the annual percentage rate of charge (APR).
- Your assessment — income, existing obligations and credit history affect what you are offered.
A good rule: plan for a payment you could comfortably make even in a month with an unexpected expense.
What lenders usually ask for
- being of legal age and a valid ID card;
- regular income — salary, pension or other verifiable income;
- details of existing loans and instalments.
Documents and terms differ from lender to lender. If you don't have a guarantor, read what a loan without a guarantor means.
